Truist Bank Generously Supports Community Action Development Allentown with Community Partners

GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY — Community Action Development Allentown is excited to announce that we have received a $150,000 grant from Truist Charitable Fund to support the CORE Neighborhood Partnership Program. This will be Truist’s third year in a six-year program of which they will be donating $900,000 total towards a robust strategy aimed to break the cycle of poverty and violence affecting Center City Allentown’s young population. CORE Allentown encompasses education, vocational training, health and recreation, and citizenship, by providing a holistic framework for the development and empowerment of our younger generation.

“I’m so honored to celebrate this impactful program, its outcomes, and the potential it has to transform lives in our community,” said Schnearia Ashley, the Senior Vice President and Community Development Manager for Truist Bank. “This grant enables us to contribute directly to the betterment of our community and make sure that we have been working alongside partners like Mr. Bosket, who is truly the man of the hour, who helps create change. I just want to thank you so much for letting us be a part of today’s celebration.”

Community Action Development Allentown, a subsidiary of local anti-poverty non-profit Community Action Lehigh Valley, has been working in collaboration with various community organizations, including Fine Feather Foundation, Freedom School, and the Lehigh Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance.
