Our partnerships enable Community Action to effectively improve social and economic justice in the State of Pennsylvania.

The following is a list of CAAP's state partnerships

  • The Department of Community and Economic Development fosters the opportunities for businesses to grow and for communities to succeed and thrive in a global economy.

  • The Pennsylvania Department of Human Servies' seven program offices administer services that provide care and support to Pennsylvania's most vulnerable citizens.

  • The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low-income families pay their heating bills.

  • Pennsylvania Energy Assistance and Weatherization Coalition. The U.S. Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program provides grants to states, territories, and some Indian tribes to improve the energy efficiency of the homes of low-income families.

  • The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations is the statewide membership organization serving and advancing the nonprofit sector through advocacy, collaboration, education, and other services in order to improve the overall quality of life in Pennsylvania.

  • The Pennsylvania Head Start Association (PHSA) is a non-profit membership organization. PHSA is an advocacy organization for Head Start programs, families, staff, and administrators in Pennsylvania.

  • The Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center is a nonpartisan, statewide policy research project that provides independent, credible analysis on state tax, budget, and related policy matters, with attention to the impact of policy proposals on working families.

  • Hunger-Free Pennsylvania is the commonwealth's single largest nonprofit provider of food resources for hungry families and one of the state's leading advocates in the fight against hunger

  • Serving 27 counties, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, is the largest non-profit food distribution organization in central PA.

  • The Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania is a statewide coalition working to provide leadership and a common voice for policies, practices, and resources to ensure that all Pennsylvanians, especially those with low-incomes, have access to safe, decent, and affordable homes.

  • The Making Work Pay Coalition is a group of advocacy and direct service organizations that have come together to develop recommendations for measures that Pennsylvania can implement to better ensure that low-income families are always better off when parents go to work, work more hours, or earn promotions or raises.

  • Raise the Wage PA is a statewide coalition of community, labor, faith-based, and other organizations fighting for an increase in the PA minimum wage.

  • Better Choices for PA Coalition members work in support of a balanced approach to the state budget; a state budget that builds upon sound public investments; and a state budget that addresses immediate needs and prepares for the future.
