Evangelical Honors the Community

Lewisburg, PA - Sue Auman, Executive Director of Union-Synder Community Action Agency, has been honored with the President's Award for her outstanding service and commitment to the community on November 14th, 2023.

Evangelical Hospital recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their work, made significant contributions to the community, and served as a role model for others.

Since joining Union-Snyder Community Action Agency in 2016, Sue has driven the organization forward and innovated it’s long tradition of service aimed at looking at the specific needs of the community. Sue leads initiatives aimed at eradicating poverty in Union and Snyder counties by empowering individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency.

Sue’s work and impact in homelessness and homelessness prevention is nothing short of inspirational. Sue says that bringing people together to solve this problem is what she and her team do. Housing and access to stable and affordable housing is critical in addressing social determinants of health for better outcomes. Sue is contagiously positive, all while working to address and solve many barriers related to poverty such as poor nutrition, lack of education, incarceration, unemployment, transportation, and income insecurity.
